GROUNDTRUTH · FIELD INTELLIGENCE

Disclaimer, Acknowledgment & Release

You accept this when you activate GroundTruth. Version 2026-06-24.

GroundTruth is a second set of eyes — an assistive tool that helps your team read scans, draft codes, and flag possible hazards faster, and helps the industry cut reporting time and reduce strikes. That's all it is. It is not a locator, not a licensed professional, and it does not make decisions.

By activating and using GroundTruth, you — the subscribing company, its owners, technicians, and team — acknowledge and agree:

  1. You make every call. Every locate, mark, classification or code, and every decision to core, cut, bore, or dig — and every report you produce — is the sole responsibility of your qualified/certified technician, your team, and your company. You are the arbiter of every decision.
  2. GroundTruth is advisory only. Its outputs are suggestions and may be incomplete, delayed, or wrong. They are not a substitute for trained human judgment, field verification, your own equipment and methods, applicable standards (e.g., NASSCO PACP/MACP/LACP, ASCE 38, 811 / one-call), manufacturer guidance, or the law.
  3. Always verify. Always err on the side of caution. Never act on a GroundTruth output without independently confirming it with your own procedures. When in doubt — do not core, do not dig — verify first.
  4. No liability — ever. To the fullest extent permitted by law, GroundTruth, The Land Mule, and their owners, employees, and affiliates are not liable for any decision you make or any outcome of using the tool — including any utility strike, property damage, injury, death, loss, delay, mis-code, omission, missed defect, or harm to your business. You assume full responsibility.
  5. You hold us harmless. You agree to release, indemnify, and hold harmless GroundTruth and The Land Mule from any claim, loss, liability, or expense (including legal fees) arising out of your use of the tool or any decision made by you, your technicians, or your team.
  6. No warranty. GroundTruth is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, express or implied — including accuracy, reliability, fitness for a particular purpose, or any promise that it will detect, prevent, or warn of any hazard, utility, defect, or strike.
  7. What we're actually doing. Our only goal is to assist you — to help your people make better-informed judgment calls, cut reporting time, and mitigate (not eliminate) the risk of strikes and the harm they cause your business. The responsibility for the call always stays with you.
By entering your access code and confirming at activation, an authorized representative of your company accepts this on the company's behalf. A dated record of acceptance is kept.
